In
a world gripped with uncertainty and materialism, we need somebody to lean on.
And who would that person be but Jesus Christ, a true and loyal friend of yours
and mine. The lyric “No man is an island,” aptly pictures our need for a friend
as we live in this world.
The
Holy Bible is replete with inspiring words about friends. Surrounded by friends
in his lifetime, King Solomon shares with us this thoughts:
How
wonderful it is to have good and sincere friends! They make life more
meaningful and enjoyable, like a bed of roses.
- A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who stick closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24.
- Wound from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses. Proverbs 27:6.
- Perfumes and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one’s friend springs from his earnest counsel. Proverbs 27:9.
